December 11, 2021 @ 3:00 pm

Our series of virtual piano recital/lectures feature Dr. Peter Muir, a versatile international pianist, conductor, educator and musicologist.  He possesses an impressive broad repertoire embraacing jazz, blues, ragtime and classical.  The New York Times describes his talent as “potent” and Newsday praises his terrific performances.  This recital/lecture is a toe-tapping snapping exploration of the music of the Depression and Swing Era, featuring the music of Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Fats Waller, George Gershwin and many others.

An educational and musical feast you won’t want to miss!  It offers original insights into, and a deeper understanding of American popular music of the 1930s and its relationship to society.
