“Make Strawberry Gelato & Mango Gelato” with Chef Rob!

Need something cold and sweet to help cool you off?  Then join Chef Rob Scott via Zoom, a Chef and Baker from Long Island.     Today, Rob will be making Strawberry Gelato & Mango Gelato!     Watch as Rob makes these delicious treats and make them along with him!  You will have a ball !       Below are the ingredients.

Program appropriate for Kindergarten and up.

Rob has been a head chef For over 20 years and was also a private chef.   He has done cooking classes with Valerie Bertinnelli and Giada.

Ingredients:

 

STRAWBERRY GELATO

By:  Simply Creative Chef Rob Scott

 

Ingredients: Servings: 8

 

1 pound fresh strawberries

1 cup granulated sugar

¾ cup water

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

½ cup heavy whipping cream

 

Directions:

 

  • Remove the stems and leaves from the strawberries and rinse in cold water
  • Place the strawberries\, lemon juice and the sugar in a food processor and process until liquefied
  • Add the water and run the food processor until all the mixture is smooth
  • Whip the cream with a wire whisk until it begins to thicken slightly and becomes the consistency of buttermilk
  • Mix the cream and strawberry mixture in a bowl and mix thoroughly
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer’s instructions

 

 

MANGO GELATO

Ingredients: Servings: 6

 

2 ½ cups fresh blackberries or 2 cups mango

1 cup granulated sugar

2 cups milk

Juice of half a lime

 

Directions:

 

  • Rinse the blackberries in cold water or peel and cut up mango into pieces
  • Place the fruit, lime juice and the sugar in a food processor and process until liquefied
  • Add 1 cup of the milk and run the food processor until the mixture is smooth
  • Mix the remainder of milk and fruit mixture in a bowl and mix thoroughly
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and freeze following the manufacturer’s instructions
