Poetry’s Many Pleasures
April 1 @ 4:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, repeating until April 8, 2020
We read poems for the many pleasures they provide – pleasures of sound and sense, of image and idea, of meaning and feeling. We read and enjoy poems because they charm us, amuse us surprise and even amaze us. And we especially reach for poems for consolation in times of sorrow and grief. Join us for reading and discussing a variety of poems in English and in translation from other world languages. Photocopies of the poems will be provided.
