Patricia Frankel is exhibiting her bold new paintings which represent her transition from realistic art to abstract painting. As a long-time Pound Ridge resident, she has exhibited here and in Scarsdale, NY and Hartsdale, NY.
Her paintings are accompanied by notes that explain how her photographs provided inspiration for her art. Her recent trip to Yellowstone National Park, with its varied landscapes, resulted in her use of vivid color and rhythmic patterns.
The mixed media used to create these pieces include acrylic and oil paint, wax, varnish, housepaint and Rustoleum spray paint. Some are finished with a glossy epoxy resin.
