Breathtaking images of some of the world’s best dancers have been captured in studio by professional photographer Steven Vandervelden. Steven Vandervelden is a long-time Pound Ridge resident. He is an internationally recognized fine-art dance photographer. He has been privileged to work in a New York City studio and elsewhere with some of the best dancers in the world. His images tantalize by combining a mixture of dramatic light and movement. To him every studio shoot is a unique, experimental art collaboration that begins as a blank canvas.
Steven has worked with mostly professional dancers from throughout the world and brings the same energy and creativity regardless of the subject and opportunity. He has been featured in numerous dance and fashion publications throughout the world. His work is displayed on Instagram @VandyPhotography and @VandyYoga2. He has assisted the teaching of lighting and fashion courses at the International Center for Photography in Manhattan over the past 9 years. He also previously worked as a prosecutor in Westchester County for 34 years and for many years balanced his life by simultaneously pursuing both careers.
