some of you may know ricky personally, in passing, rather well, or not at all.
if you call pound ridge home, there’s a bit of a likelihood you may also know her
this way:
the little book of numbers phonebook (publisher, since 1990), antiques & tools of
business & kitchen (buyer for mother joan’s corner store, est. 1990), welcome to
scotts corners wooden signs (origin designer/painter, 1985), the country
shopper newspaper (founder/art director, est. 1975), pound ridge tennis club
(founding family & lifetime member, since 1964), or even off the cover of lisl
steiner’s art book lisl baby (caricature portrait of author, 1984).
when your roots in a place are 60+ years old, they’re long, strong, deep and
complex. fold decades of global living into the mix, and the being becomes a
labyrinth.
for ricky, art has simplified and celebrated all that.
so, regarding this lifelong, committed, and homegrown artist who has keenly
avoided having any show her whole life, pound ridge library is proud to finally
