Arty Party

By popular demand, Arty Party returns with another session of: A Paint Party for Adults at the Pound Ridge Library “PAINT LIKE VAN GOGH” with us at the Pound Ridge Library on Friday, October 20 at 12:30pm.

Pound Ridger Lauren Teton will guide “party-cipiants” through the unique brush strokes and coloration that make “Starry Night”one of the most popular and beloved of Van Gogh’s hundreds of paintings.This program is for all levels; beginner and first time painters all the way to accomplished artists. Copying famous paintings is a time-honored way to learn.
All paint supplies will be supplied. If you have favorite brush esor colors, feel free to bring them. Light refreshments will beserved and feel free to bring some white wine to drink. Red wine stains, so we can’t sip that here. You will relax and (re)create a masterpiece as the party leader shares her knowledge of Van Gogh and his style. It takes more than 2 hours to paint a masterpiece so we will add our own creativity as we choose where to focus our efforts on this painting. The starry sky is a vital element of the painting’s appeal and we will copy the technique. People over age 50 are especially welcome, but teens who don’t have classes at that time are welcome as well!  Art kits to take home are available for purchase with advance notice.
Other Arty Party themes that you may see at future workshops include “Sketchbook Abstract,” “Copy Your Favorite Painting,”and “Embellish a Bottle with Design.”  Arty Party is available for booking in your home, recreation, or work environment. Lauren will also be leading a class at the Library on Wednesday, November 1 where we will paint a gift and make holiday cards.  No experience or special skills needed.  Come out and socialize and  tackle you holiday gift list at the same time.
