Friends and Gardeners features the vast garden design contributions in the late 20 th century -two of the most important horticulturists, garden designers, and the legacys to come from them. They are Christopher Lloyd and Beth Chatto. Presented by award winning landscape designer, Jennifer Yates, the talk traces each of their origins with their individual gardens, and grows to their remarkable friendship and how it shaped gardens as we know them today. They both added their powerful gifts to the world of garden design. Loaded with images, the presentation appeals to anyone interested in history and culture, as well as plant lovers and enthusiasts.
Jennifer Yates is an artist, versatile, experienced award-winning landscape designer with a uniques perspective. Her work focuses on the impressive & beautiful as well as ecological. Her lifetime of study in the complementary fields of architecture. horticulture and the envitonment inform her natural gift for color and structure to create harmonious landscape designs.
Her training began with a Bachelor of Interior Architecture degree with a minor in Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design, complemented with a study of Art at Brown University. Jennifer followed this with studies in Horticulture & Landscape Architecture at the New York Botanical Gardens. Finally, she completed certification from the Northeast Organic Farming Association.
