Gloria Koster Children’s Author Visit

September 14 @ 1:00 pm - 1:30 pm

Pound Ridge Library is thrilled to welcome local author Gloria Koster. Gloria will read from her latest children’s book Overdue: The Misadventure of Bob the Book.

Meet Bob. He’s the all-time favorite library book at Wisdom Hill Elementary. But Sebastian is nothing like Bob’s previous enthusiastic borrowers. In fact, Sebastian completely forgets about Bob! Will Bob ever feel the love of a contented fan again, or will he be lost and alone forever? In this harrowing tale told from a book’s point-of-view, author and librarian Gloria Koster showcases the joy of reading and the importance of taking care of books.

This book is for ages 5-9. Illustrated by Pawel Gierlinski.

In addition to being an author, Gloria Koster (gloriakoster.com) is a longtime children’s librarian. She was the Library Media Specialist at West School in New Canaan, CT for 20 years. She says “so many of my story ideas come from my years spent listening to kids’ voices and concerns.” Earlier published books include The Peanut-Free Café (Albert Whitman), Mitzi’s Mitzvah (Kar-Ben), Little Red Ruthie: A Hanukkah Tale (Albert Whitman), Dance the Hora, Isadora! (Apples & Honey), and The King with a Horse’s Ears (Capstone). She is over-the-top excited to announce her newest project— a picture book biography of Leonard Bernstein to be published by Calkins Creek/Astra. Gloria is also the author of many early nonfiction books written for the educational market. At home in both Pound Ridge and Manhattan, Gloria and her husband are the parents of three adult children and four energetic grandkids.
