The Pound Library is pleased to announce the continuation of a series of lectures which includes, among its courses in 2023 the (belated) commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II. from The Great Courses. These lectures mark the tenth year of a series of courses, are part of the library’s continuing presentation of a new educational concept in lifelong learning: a series of DVD seminars from The Teaching Company/The Great Courses encompassing a wide variety of subjects, given by outstanding scholars from major colleges and universities in the United States (most lectures are closed-captioned). This program, the first of its kind in this country, is designed to provide a collegial, small group setting for courses “you didn’t get a chance to take in college but wanted to.”
The seminars, developed and moderated by Larry Brotmann of Pound Ridge, NY, take place at the library on Thursdays at 12:30pm, and consist of four 30-minute weekly lectures per session, from 3 to 9 weeks per course.
