Pound Ridge Library Foundation Children’s Author Event

The Pound Ridge Library Foundation is proud to present an in-person event featuring critically acclaimed children’s and young adult authors! Join us in the Schaffner Room on Saturday, April 15th between 2 and 5pm. Age recommendations and time slots are indicated below.

Raj Haldar, better known by his stage name Lushlife, is an American rapper, composer, and producer. He is also the #1 New York Times best-selling author of P Is for Pterodactyl, co-written with Chris Carpenter. His other books include No Reading Allowed, Word Travelers and the Taj Mahal Mystery, and Word Travelers and the Missing Mexican Mole. (Grades K to 4; 2-3pm)

Bryan Collier has won both the Coretta Scott King Award and the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Award for Uptown, the first book he both wrote and illustrated. He has won six King Awards as an illustrator and he is a four-time Caldecott Honor recipient. He is the illustrator of many books including All Because You Matter, We Are Here, Martin’s Big Words, Love Is Loud, Rosa, and Between the Lines. (Grades 4 to 6; 3-4pm)

Martha Hunt Handler grew up dreaming of wolves and has always understood that her role in this lifetime is to tell stories and be a voice for nature. She has been an environmental consultant, a magazine columnist, an actress, and a polar explorer. When she moved to New York more than twenty years ago, she began to literally hear the howls of wolves, prompting her work at the Wolf Conservation Center. Winter of the Wolf is Martha’s debut young adult novel. (Grades 6 and up; 4-5pm)

A limited quantity of books will be available for children who attend. If you would like to purchase additional copies, Booksy Galore will have them on hand for sale. The bookstore is located at 67 Westchester Avenue in Pound Ridge.

Please note that parking will be available at the Town Park only and all guests will receive complimentary shuttle service to and from the event. Kindly RSVP as soon as possible; space is limited.
