To the Pound Ridge Community:
As 2024 comes to a close, I am sharing the following Annual Report on behalf of the Library Board of Trustees. We continue to be amazed at the dedication of our staff and volunteers and the support from our community as we strive to make the library a place where everyone wants to be.
Financial Overview: As fiduciaries, we are committed to ensuring fiscal responsibility. Prudent financial management continues to allow us to stay within our budget and enhance our services to the community. Our finance committee works diligently to ensure efficient allocation of resources, which enable us to continue to provide quality programs to our community.
Programs and Special Events: This past year was another amazing year in our ability to offer programs and special events that are geared to our entire community. No matter what your interests are you can find a program that will keep you engaged, teach you something new or entertain you. We continue to listen to the community and offer zoom classes as well as in person programs that support your interests.
Technology and Innovation: As our community embraces innovation, so do we. This past year we continued to evolve our digital infrastructure including upgrades in technology for our staff and our patrons. We want to ensure access for all through technology.
Facility Enhancements: Our physical space is at the heart of the library. We are so proud of the improvements that we have made over the years. It is hard not to walk into the library without smiling and feeling a sense of calm at these improvements. This year we committed to enhancing the Children’s Room to match the feel of the rest of the library. We look forward to seeing our young patron’s faces as they enter the new and updated Children’s Room.
Community Collaboration: We value the support we receive within the community and throughout 2024 we continued our commitment to collaborate with other community organizations, local businesses and Town officials. We welcome the opportunity to continue this collaboration throughout the coming years.
Volunteer Recognition: A big thank you! Our library is so fortunate to have volunteers who value the library as much as we do. We could not do what we do every day without your efforts and we applaud and thank you for giving your time to this place that is even more amazing because of you.
The Foundation: We also want to give a big thank you to the Library Foundation. They continuously support our efforts through grants, so that we can continue to be the community library that we strive to be. We appreciate their support throughout this past year and look forward to continuing our collaboration.
What’s Next: We look forward to another amazing year at the library as we continue to ensure we uphold our mission by providing access to a broad variety of materials, information, programs and services. And, to ensure we have multi-functional meeting space to meet the needs of the residents of the Town of Pound Ridge.
And, finally, I want to thank our staff for all that they have done this past year to ensure our mission and vision is realized. Thank you to the Board of Trustees, those that served throughout 2024 and our new Trustees. I look forward to working with you as we ensure that this library is a place where all feel welcome.
