The Storywalk project was conceived by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, as a way to merge the joys of reading with the benefits of outdoor activity. Inspired by her love for books and nature, Anne collaborated with the Vermont Bicycle Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library to create an engaging and educational experience for families. Storywalks feature storybook pages displayed along a trail, inviting children and caregivers to read, walk, and appreciate the outdoors together. This innovative project fosters literacy, promotes physical health, and strengthens family bonds, all while enjoying the beauty of the natural world.

Guided by the Growing Pound Ridge Committee, coordinated by the Pound Ridge Library in partnership with the Pound Ridge Recreation Department, the Pound Ridge Storywalk project was funded by the Henry Morgenthau Preserve and the Friends of Pound Ridge.
