In this 2-part virtual series, we will visit two National Parks sites. The first visit will be to the Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens in Washington, DC, which features an incredibly impressive collection of water lilies and aquatic plants. Join us for a Park Ranger talk to learn more about the park, the stories of the people who created and preserved it, and the wildlife it still supports.
In celebration of Woman’s History Month, the second in the series will be a visit to the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House also in Washington, DC. Mary McLeod Bethune was called the “First Lady of the Struggle,” and the “Female Booker T. Washington.” Join us for a Park Ranger talk to learn more about her and her home which served as the first national headquarters of the National Council of Negro Women.
