With all the electronic devices powering our lives, it is easy for our homes to become overrun with old batteries. Yet, finding a way to safely and properly recycle them isn’t always easy. Old batteries cannot go in the trash since they contain toxic metals and are considered hazardous waste.
As part of our commitment to sustainability, the Pound Ridge Library can now collect your standard AAA, AA, C, D, and 9-Volt household batteries and safely recycle them for free. Old batteries may be left at the front desk or placed in a cardboard box by the front entranceway.
Thank you for helping to keep old batteries out of our landfills.
