Gotta Dance: Homage to the Hollywood Musical

 GOTTA DANCE! HOMAGE TO THE HOLLYWOOD MUSICAL  Uniquely American, the Hollywood musical celebrates the vitality of life through story, song, and dance. With the help of selected movie clips, we’ll review the genre’s evolution from the 1930s to the present, honoring the great talents who have adapted the art of cinematic choreography to the country’s changing moods.  Our 2-part film series will be presented by the familiar Dr. William Costanzo, Distinguished Teaching Professor of English and Film at SUNY.  He will explore such classics as Singin’ in the Rain, Chorus Line, and Oklahoma and others.  Come join us online for more lively enlightening film discussion and conversation.
