Exhibition “Six Feet” & 5 Artist’s Works & Bios
MOIM is a community of contemporary Korean American artists with a mission to further
and support the development of each other’s works.
Throughout this global pandemic, we have heard many heartbreaking stories of hardship and
loss from all over the world. We have also heard some heartwarming accounts of people giving selflessly to those suffering from Covid-19 and others in need.
During these challenging times, MOIM has tried to stay true to its identity as active and engaged artists, so as not to lose sight of our creative visions while we were all forced to spend
more time in our homes.
Each month we met on Zoom to discuss, share, express, encourage, and learn from each other. We all grew as people – we learned to appreciate what we have and what we can offer to
the world as artists. As artists, we possess the unique ability to give visual form and expression to the experience of lockdowns and restrictions. “6 Feet” is the result of such efforts.
“Six feet” is no longer an abstract measure of distance. It has become an emotionally, psychologically, physically, and socially charged distance that we all have come to experience in
our own ways.

The theme of Hugh Price’s exhibition reflects his conviction that in these fractious and turbulent times . we must seek those initiatives and experiences which help to heal the divides and celebrate the fundamental humanity of our species. Street photography can provide such a window. Travel provides the opportunity for discerning patterns and similarities across cultures. Photography enables us to capture and share what we discover. The exhibition hopscotches the globe. It includes stirring photographs from Cape Town, Havana, and culminates in New York City were the exuberant and strikingly diverse Central Park Skate Dancers vividly demonstrate how we can all get along.
Over the years, Mr. Price has held an unusual array of positions of leadership, including President and CEO of the National Urban League, editorial board of the New York Times, senior vice-president of WNET/Thirteen and vice-president of the Rockefeller Foundation. Mr. Price has appeared on numerous television and radio programs including Meet the Press, The Newshow with Jim Lehrer and The Charlie Rose Show. The exhibit consists of flora, landscapes and the animal kingdom, all of which bear a strong resemblance to impressionism. A Blue Ribbon award winner of a National Geographic photographic contest, the artist has exhibited in New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts and here in Westchester County.
A resident of Pound Ridge for 25 years, Mr. Rosen is an attorney with offices in White Plains. He is an avid tennis player, a reader of historical fiction and non-fiction, and a lover of travel which provides the subject matter of his work.
Mary Jane Houston is a long time Westchester resident and has been painting and teaching art for many years. She picked up a pencil at age three and has been drawing ever since! Her art is infused with her love of all things nature with an emphasis on flowers and horses. Acrylics is her medium of choice because of the bold colors and the quick dry time, although she experiments with a variety of mediums. Both large and small canvases work well for her with few subjects off limits. She hopes her work will inspire you to dig a little deeper to find the emotional messages behind the obvious.
The Ground Glass is exhibiting this month a selection of fine art photography by new Ground Glass members. The show will also display a selection of the photographs of Member Mil Finley, who recently passed away.
The Ground Glass, established in 1975, is an independent association dedicated to promoting the practice and appreciation of fine art photography in Westchester County, NY. It serves as a forum for photographers to express ideas, share technical information and participate in juried exhibitions. The group also addresses issues concerning photography through lectures, demonstrations and workshops.
In this riveting new show of oil painting, Renee E. Rubin boldy restructures the Old Masters’ self-portraits, bringing to bear her discerning eye and consummate classical technique. In a unique touch, the paintings extend beyond the frame, creating a trompel’oeil effect within the painting. As art critic Ed McCormack wrote: “Renee E. Rubin is an artists possessed of natural gifts for which many realists would gladly kill. However, it is her winning combination of courage, conceptual chutzpah, human sympathy and irreverence that makes Rubin such a consummately engaging and ultimately rewarding painter.”
